Bark & Dirt Removal
Redoing your landscaping? We remove old bark, dirt and landscaping material so you're starting with a clean slate.

What we take care of
- Old bark & mulch
- Dirt & soil
- Landscaping debris
- Rock & gravel (ask us)
Start your landscaping project with a clean slate
Redoing a yard usually starts with getting rid of what's already there. Old bark breaks down and fades, soil piles up from digging, and leftover rock and landscaping material has to go somewhere. Hauling it yourself means a lot of shoveling and a lot of trips. We scoop it up, load it and take it away.
What we remove
- Old bark and mulch that has broken down or faded
- Dirt and soil from digging, grading or garden projects
- Landscaping debris like old plants, roots, sod and weeds
- Weed barrier fabric left over from old installs
- Rock and gravel. Ask us, since these are heavy and priced differently.
Before new bark goes down
If you're putting down fresh bark or mulch, removing the old layer first gives you a cleaner look and better results. We can clear the beds, pull weeds and remove old fabric so your new material goes down on a fresh surface. We can also team this with a yard clean-up to handle overgrown plants and green waste in the same visit.
Projects we commonly help with
- Replacing old bark in front yard planters
- Removing dirt piles after a pool, patio or garden install
- Clearing park strips and planter beds along sidewalks
- Getting a rental or listing's landscaping ready to show
- Cleaning up after contractors or landscapers
How pricing works
Bark and dirt removal is priced by volume and weight. Dirt and rock are much heavier than bark, so they cost more to haul and dispose of. Tell us roughly how big the area is and how deep the material is, or send a few photos, and we'll give you a price before we start.
What to expect

- We give you a price before any digging starts.
- We shovel, load and haul everything away.
- We clean up walkways, curbs and driveways so there's no mess left behind.
Whether it's a few wheelbarrows' worth or a full trailer, we can handle it.
Why old bark should come out
Bark breaks down over time into a fine, soil-like layer that holds water against plant stems and gives weeds a perfect place to sprout. Piling fresh bark on top of that layer, year after year, raises the bed until it buries sprinkler heads and creeps over the sidewalk. Taking the old material out every few years keeps beds at the right height and helps the new layer last longer.
Dirt from projects
Digging for a patio, a pool, a shed pad or raised garden beds can leave a surprising amount of soil. A single yard of dirt weighs well over a ton, and it doesn't fit in a green bin. We load it by hand or shovel, haul it off and sweep the area.
Park strips and sidewalk planters
The strips between the sidewalk and the street collect debris, trash and old bark that spills onto the walkway. We clear them out completely, which gives you a clean surface for new bark, rock or drought-friendly plants.
